thin and fine
i wish i had hair like Tom's...
but alas, fate did not bestowed upon me thick and unruly locks.
my hair has always been thin and fine. thus my family has always expected that I would follow the path of grandfather Roy and eventually have a few fragile wispy filaments on an otherwise bare scalp.
well, the process is well under way.
a small patch on the top of my head is now noticeably thin, and i suspect will only become thinner.
the boys in the band called me on it last night. i don't know how it started, but for a good twenty minutes balding became the central discussion point. their advice was to cut it short, because long only makes it look worse...and then you start approaching comb-over territory, which could trigger a mini mid-life crisis.
this morning i almost buzzed it all off. but then i thought it would be best to consult with my hairdresser of 2 years, Kristi, before doing anything so drastic.
her professional opinion is that my 'thinning' isn't bad yet, but agreed that shorter would probably be better, so short my hair now is.
not too short though...
this winter may very well be the last winter i try to keep a full head of hair. i think once summer comes around my mode of hair maintenance will be shaving cream and a razor.
but of course the chops will stay.
