some like it hot
having a warm shower is unsatisfying.
i wanted to end this quiet Sunday with a hot shower. the kind of hot that makes my whole body flush and tingly. the kind of hot aqua coziness that releases a loud sigh of contentment. but someone else in my building must have had the same thing in mind and used up all the hot water, so i was left with just warm water.
not cold, not tepid, and certainly not hot. just warm near the edge of hot. a little nudge on the dial away from hot. but the dial was fully over to H and all i got was warm.
so i washed and lathered and cleaned. then i waited under a waterfall of warm for hot. hoping for once that maybe someone would flush a toilet.
i even tried to force the dial another few millimetres into the hot end. i think it might have worked for a second or two, either that or the placebo effect works with temperature perception as well.
eventually the water started moving from warm to lukewarm and i gave up hoping for hot.
in some parts of the world they have shower heaters that heat up the water right before it gets to the shower nozzle. it’s suppose to be more energy efficient and you always have hot water for a hot shower whenever you want one. sounds great to me.
