fresh produce

sunny spring days combined with self imposed deadlines are dangerous. my productivity has been horrible this past month.

but i think i've found the secret, and not a moment too soon either.
no writing at the computer allowed.

a computer is too many things these days...comic book, sound system, radio, TV, game console, com unit, newspaper... it is way too easy to be distracted by all the options that are only a click away.

even up at my office computer i would find ways of distracting myself, and that machine only has a word processor, internet, and email. no games, no speakers, nothing else.

so now i'm doing all my writing away from a computer with pen and paper. I only go to the computer now to type it out and do editing.

it's working out really well. i sit out on my balcony in the sun and write until the page becomes overloaded with scribbled script and crossed out words. then i go dump it all on the computer in a much more decipherable form.

hopefully it keeps working for me, i need to ramp things up.
