final push

i'm working on the final article now, and honestly i don't know where the time is going.

my last post was on June 29th, and i know i've been doing thesis related things since then, but i don't have much to show for it besides one recorded interview, some scratchy notes, and an intro section that's on it's 3rd complete re-write.

i had setup another interview...well at least called a researcher to set something up. he was suppose to get back to me by email to set a date but never did. i haven't bothered following up on it because he didn't sound very interested, and i don't really need the interview anymore.

it's weird, but for some reason i feel that i'm dropping the ball when other people don't get back to me, even though it's got nothing to do with me if they don't follow through. It happens a lot actually because when i'm getting sources I usually contact more than one person to comment on a certain topic. I end up using the first knowledgeable, reliable, and articulate source that gets back to me...
funny, the people that get back to me the quickest are usually the best and friendliest interviews.

i always have a weird impulse to call back the people that never call me back to tell them i don't need them, but that would be silly...

what would i say? "thank you for letting me ask you to talk to me and then not calling me back, but i don't need you anymore." ???

...

so now i got one more article to go which i will try to have a working draft for by the end of the week. If i can finalize it by the end of the month i will be happy.

Then i got a summer school class on science education and an academic paper portion of the thesis to finish by August 13th.

it's doable,

now i'm going to completely rewrite the intro again...

(graphic modified from a recent paper on RNAi. i think they are slides of hepatocarcinoma cells...i didn't read it, i just looked for pretty graphics to mess with)

Nice, real nice. While your looking at pretty pictures, your dragging your feet on your paper, dude.

As for what to say to the people that don't get back to you, i suspect that something along these lines would work well -->
"Oh, I found someone more knowledgable, sorry"
or
"I decided to focus on factual interviewers, not fantasy dreamers"

But come on, those would just be petty. Let it go dude. Not everyone is as socialable as you are.

This is almost the lull that is needed to ignite a TW2002 resurrection again....
But I told myself I would wait until I was in the new house before setting up a server for that purpose.

Thank you, but commenting has expired.
