change

This website is going to have to change, but I haven't yet decided how.

Either i'm going to shut it down completely, or I will turn it into an online CV and post interesting news items and writings from other people, or my own published work and photos.

It must change because the jobs I am going after (and one I got an interview for - yay!) will essentially make me responsible for the public face of an organization, and as such anything I write or say in a public forum could be judged in that context.

So I have to be careful.

If I was going to focus on being a freelance writer and journalist, nothing would have to change. But I'm not going in that direction and I don't want to edit myself more than I already do.

So this could very well be my last entry.

To all of you that want to keep in touch and peek in on what i'm doing, there is always facebook.

It's been fun.

Thanks for everything V.

The public face of an organization has a nice ring to it....
It will be sad to not see an update every once in a while, but like you said, there is always face-book..
You will still remember us when your famous, right?

As the public face of an organization I don't think you have to shut it down at all. There are still many big bloggers out there who keep a personal space for personal ideas on the web. You may want to edit out some of the silly entries here that may be embarassing, but that's about it.

More importantly, if you don't enjoy it...then don't do it.

With a modifications we could adjust this place to do a bunch of things...more suited for reblogging...even setup a way for you to easily load xml feeds in there...have pages upon pages of xml feeds/info.

Just ideas...but I'm on vacation until Jan 7...so...I'm in full-on flake mode right now.

Good luck with the search...and happy holidays. ;)

Also, a sort of pro blogging arena out there = Vox.com.

More serious...less personal in feel...etc...you might be curious to see how others do it.

V makes a good argument.
How many times have you hit a road block, or snag and posed the question on *this* blog only to have a good response from D or anyone else here?
I think if you revamped it a little, and possibly removed the chicken eating content a little and your in good shape. As long as you don't rant and rave about somethign current and job related, you should be ok. Besides, why use a blog to rant about work. When your not workign, work should be the last thing on your mind, right?
