new cards

It looks like i should get new business cards. Soon I will be donning the mantle of Science Communicator rather than Science Journalist.

I'm in the process of drumming up some work for myself and getting the go ahead for writing, editing, and some designing of promotional material for a research unit here in the city.

It would be a short term contract just for this project, although other future projects are possible. It will also be great for my resume, which is a thin on professional PR projects.

Yes i said PR, it's not bad, especially if you believe in the people you're promoting. I still prefer the title of Science Communicator over PR person though...and I would rather get into more of a communicator, educator, and facilitator role in the science community than a booster PR role, but we'll see where the Fates put me.

My longterm plan is still a science and society publication after a couple years of wearing a shirt and tie.

I hope i get the project and kick ass on it with minimal headaches...

It could be really fun...not to mention the paycheck will keep me housed and fed for another two months.
