Last Wednesday i spent around $80 for a chance at $2,000 and a large boost to my ego. But i'm not sure what my odds are.

I sent in two submissions for the Science in Society Journalism Awards, which should have arrived this morning at the offices of the Canadian Science Writers Association in Port Hope, Ontario (population 10,972, home of the largest volume of low-level radioactive waste in Canada).

I submitted my series on genetic medicine for the series category and the first article in that series on cystic fibrosis and gene therapy for the 'News Feature' category.

It would be a huge coup if anything came out of it.
