post-mardi

for those of you that missed the party saturday night, you missed out!

it was great.

me and the boys went to the Pub at 3pm to decorate and were there for 2 hours...
lights, streamers, banners, and a big Mardi Gras mask balloon. the whole place was snazed up and ready for a party.

the place started filling up early too...by 10:30 there was a little over 100 people there by my estimates...and people kept coming...

The Notes played a great set, i haven't seen those guys play in sooo long. too bad they didn't have any CDs to sell, cause i would have snapped one up...they tune a lot more than we do too...

Cross'd Lovers Burlesque were amazing!
peacock feathers, milk maids, and a jungle queen, OH MY!

then it was HEFE's turn. we marched in from the back of the room in party masks playing 'when the saints go marching in'...along with some canned music of course...

i played cornet, Rich was on clarinet, Steve and Pudge had noise makers or shakers or something. my skills on the cornet are rusty, but it was all just for fun. i think people enjoyed it.

then we played our set, which was mostly tunes from the album plus a few surprises.

a lovely chicken lady came up on stage to strut for gravel. we also threw in a new surf-rock original number, twisted, as well as the mardi gras standard iko iko.

in the middle of iko iko we went into bow wow's i want candy, and the queen of the burlesque ladies, Camero Luvroc, came up and sang.

for charge me two toy dolls came up to dance on stage, they ran out of steam and needed to get charged up mid way through the number.

and the big finish was drive it up, once again with two of the fabulous Cross'd Lovers ladies on stage to shake and shimmy.

it was a good time.

but...we didn't get very many photos of the event, so if anyone out there has any good ones, send them my way please.

ROCK
